The Heartland Center for Jobs and Freedom is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit public interest law firm dedicated to protecting the rights of workers, tenants, and others who face barriers to justice. Our work is made possible by the generosity of individuals, foundations, businesses, and members of the legal community who believe that everyone deserves access to justice.

About the Lawyers' Committee

The Lawyers' Committee recognizes attorneys, judges, and legal professionals who make an annual financial commitment to support Heartland's mission. More than donors, committee members are partners in expanding access to justice across Missouri and the Kansas City region.

Members enjoy unique opportunities to engage with Heartland's work, including invitations to exclusive receptions, educational programs, behind-the-scenes briefings on emerging legal issues, volunteer opportunities, and other special events that connect members with fellow leaders in the legal community while supporting meaningful change.

Introducing the NextGeneration Lawyers Committee

We're also launching the NextGeneration Lawyers Committee, designed for attorneys within their first five years after law school. This committee gives newer attorneys an opportunity to build relationships with peers and experienced public-interest leaders while becoming involved in Heartland's mission early in their careers.

NextGeneration Lawyers Committee members receive their own invitations to networking events, volunteer opportunities, educational programs, and other unique ways to engage with Heartland and make a lasting impact on our community.

Every membership strengthens our ability to serve clients, tackle systemic problems, and build a more just society.
